I’ve recorded our Gaeilge story for this week. I hope these clips will help you with your pronunciation when you are reading at home.

I’ve split this week’s story ‘Turas Scoile’ into two audio clips the first one is leathanach 40 in your reader and the second is leathanach 41.

If you listened to the clips, leave a comment saying if you thought they were helpful or not.

The Fall of the Berlin Wall November 9, 2009

Filed under: sixth class — msobrien @ 11:26 pm

Today, the 9th of November, is the 2oth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

This picture shows the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

Fall of Berlin Wall

To mark the 2oth anniversary, foam dominos, will be placed along the former route of the wall. These dominos have been painted with messages of freedom by young people. From 7pm British time they will be toppled, symbolising how the fall of the Wall triggered the collapse of repressive Communist regimes across Eastern Europe.berlin wall 2

Here are some links to sites reporting on the Anniversary celebrations.
